GIS Engineering: Spatial Map Registration, Vectorization & Imagery Merging Application

Tagar Structural Asset Indicator

We engineered and developed a specialized Geographic Information System (GIS) application designed to transform raw scanned paper maps into highly accurate, vector-ready digital geographic assets.

The application allows users to inject precise spatial calibration and coordinate meta-data - including Projection, Datum, and positioning controls - directly onto scanned raster images. By defining synchronization control points across overlapping maps, the platform enables the seamless geometric alignment and merging of adjacent map sectors into unified geographic files. It also supports dynamic map decomposition, allowing any captured fragment of a registered map to be cropped and exported as an independent, fully calibrated asset.

Through the integration of an overlay digital geographic layer, the system enables deterministic real-time reverse geocoding, converting any physical screen click on the synchronized digital layout into an instantaneous, exact geographical coordinate.
